Contemporary Sharqi - Juliet Le Page<\/p><\/div>\n

This week in class we are continuing to explore Egyptian Contemporary Classical ? I am captivated as I observe students taking flight with the Egyptian classical dance form, whilst they simultaneously tussle with the challenge of remaining powerfully earthed. They (and I), must be patient as this paradox requires a refined and delicate sensorial balance<\/em> between our physical and metaphysical world???? After class, it is clear that all are effected by the tangible energy that is now manifest in the studio as a result of such focussed attention. Excitement pervades. Eyes wide, faces are soft, cheeks are warm, hearts beating strong, smiles are broad.<\/div>\n

Every soul needs to soar with music and take flight with dance. <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Rudolf Laban in his book “A Life for Dance” writes “In dancing we are able to express relationships in which awareness of self and others is enhanced. The feeling of joy which dance can give helps us to harmonize ourselves and gain an increased sense of belonging.”<\/p>\n
